Highlights of the Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2026
The Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival is back, from April to June 2026! Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the fourth edition features nearly 20 programmes and over 120 events.
The theme for this year, “Beyond Fantasy,” encourages attendees to explore the different forms of creativity that shape Hong Kong’s pop culture scene, through stage performances, thematic exhibitions, film screenings, and library and outreach activities.
Opening Programme: Concert Dreamscape
17 – 18 April
The Hall, East Kowloon Cultural Centre
The festival launches with a two-night concert, co-curated by erhu virtuoso Chu Wan-pin, winner of the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Original Film Score, and local musician and artist Vicky Fung. The performance reimagines classic Hong Kong film scores. On 17 April, guest performers include Phil Lam and Winka from COLLAR. The following evening on 18 April features Tang Siu-hau and Jeremy from MIRROR. These artists join an ensemble, choir, and rising musical talents, collaborating with young street dancers choreographed by WinWin and Kenya Boya. Each concert concludes with a post-performance talk that offers deeper insights into the creative process.

Outdoor Music Carnival: ImagineLand
25 – 26 April
Piazza, Hong Kong Cultural Centre

At the Forest Stage, the Go Beyond Concert brings together local rising stars, singer-songwriters, bands, and international talents, presenting an eclectic mix of pop genres. A new addition this year is the Cantopop Party, where DJs spin classic hits from across generations to evoke shared memories and nostalgia.
The Seed Stage offers intimate, street-style performances by young musicians, accompanied by thematic sharing sessions that connect creation with contemporary trends. The Funarts Corner adds lively creative booths to the carnival atmosphere. In the evenings, Movie Under the Stars screens local fantasy-romance films on the lawn, with Last Song For You (2024) on 25 April, and Fly Me to Polaris (1999) on 26 April.
