Curate your own cultural Journey

Culture Plus is an interactive platform aimed at all cultural lovers, experts or neophytes, providing a general overview of art and cultural events and activities in Hong Kong.

As a cultural hub, Culture Plus helps people and families to curate their own journey and to develop their personal interests and taste in art and culture.

Thanks to a comprehensive listing of events, Culture Plus allows its users to curate their own programme of cultural activities and happenings. By creating their personal profile on the platform, users are able to save events on their own calendar and to receive reminders.

The Features+ offer insightful content about the cultural scene in an accessible way: events in-depth coverage, artists and cultural players portraits, behind-the-scenes videos.

Culture Plus was founded in Hong Kong in 2021 by Julien-Loïc Garin and Emilie El Jaouhari.

Julien-Loïc Garin

Born in Lyon, France, Julien-Loïc Garin came to Hong Kong in 2011 to join Le French May Arts Festival as their CEO, bridging French and Hong Kong cultures through the organisation of over 120 exhibitions and performances every year.

In 2017, he launched Lumières Hong Kong, the city’s first light festival.

Since 2019, Julien-Loïc Garin is the Founder and CEO of Le Cercle, consulting company dedicated to support institutions, brands and corporates to envision and implement cultural strategies and arts-related events between Europe and Asia. Culture Plus is an initiative of Le Cercle.

Julien-Loïc Garin is also the Executive Director of the Fondation de France in Asia. He is leading the development of the Hong Kong-based Foundation for Art and Culture, a connecting ecosystem of institutions and programmes, fostering philanthropy, exchanges and dialogues between Europe, China and the other international cultural scenes.

Emilie El Jaouhari

Born in Paris, France, Emilie El Jaouhari has worked for eight years in the French books publishing industry, specialised in history, politics, literature, art and photography books.

In 2009, she moved to Dubai, UAE, where she first organised fundraising events and corporate partnerships for Médecins Sans Frontières MSF (Doctors without Borders).

She then joined the region’s leading multi-platform content producer Motivate Publishing, in charge of developing their book department, spanning from institutional books to memoirs, art and photography books about the Middle East culture and heritage.

In 2016, Emilie El Jaouhari moved to Hong Kong and worked for Zolima CityMag, online magazine about art and culture.

Between 2018 and 2021, she was COO of Exclusive Venue and Rouge, providing unique venues and creative experiences to corporates and institutions in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Emilie El Jaouhari also helps artists from abroad to exhibit in Hong Kong, and she collaborates with WOAW Gallery, writing cultural portraits of their artists.
