After an ardent Art Week, Spring is blooming in Hong Kong, bringing a plethora of art and cultural happenings, from the Hong Kong International Film Festival to Hong Kong Philharmonic and Premieres Performances concerts, from Tai Kwun in Bloom to Tyrrell Wilson‘s installation at Landmark, and more.

47th HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Festival features in-person theatrical screenings and events and a bespoke online programme. It also marks the return to Hong Kong of overseas filmmakers largely absent from the festival since 2019.

TYRRELL WILSON: DOUBLE TECHNICAL
This public exhibition and dynamic retail concept features the first large-scale installation of a basketball court by contemporary artist Tyrrell Winston, connecting art and culture, trends and people.

Two Hong Kong artists created large-scale outdoor art installations, inspiring the public to re-imagine the neighbouring harbour: Chan Wai-lap and his surreal yet familiar public swimming pool; Tsoi Wai-kuen and his set of six installations combining local architectural features.

Acclaimed for his exquisite depiction of natural beauty, the Chinese artist creates his paintings with a unique visual experience, inspiring the viewer to perceive nature, reality and explore new aesthetics.

HK PHIL @ FREESPACE: JAZZ DIVA: ELLA FITZGERALD
A jazz chamber music concert highlighting the music of Ella Fitzgerald, along with other jazz greats, by Hong Kong-based singer Talie Monin, Hong Kong pianist Patrick Lui and others.

TAI KWUN IN BLOOM 2023: BLOOMING AND BEYOND
Bursting with botanicals just before the Easter weekend, the annual flower extravaganza offers an abundance of lush and lavish experiences for an entire week at the Parade Ground.

ROMER STRING QUARTET FAMILY CONCERT
Known for their virtuosic performances, the quartet has curated a family programme that takes children on a journey through time, exploring the development of chamber music from different musical eras and styles.
16 April – Sheung Wan Civic Centre
STELLALOU’S WONDERFUL WISHES BALLET
StellaLou, lovable rabbit, will appear onstage at Disney’s Storybook Theater in Fantasyland during the first-of-its-kind seasonal exclusive show, co-presented by Hong Kong Ballet and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
