Welcoming the Moon: Korean Hands, the Next Generation will present over 20 pieces of artwork inspired by the full moon from renowned figures in the Korean contemporary crafts industry. For example, Insig KIM’s moon jars remind the audience of the full moon, while Jungwon LEE’s glass artworks beautifully reflect the colors of the moon and Jungmo KWON’s works resemble the moonlight and the color of the moon.
Through this exhibition, the audience can appreciate a range of Korean crafts derived from the moon’s characteristics, including the well-known Korean white porcelain moon jar that was first made during the Joseon dynasty and has influenced the craft industry until today.
