From December 8 to 12, 2021, Julien-Loïc Garin presents at La Galerie Paris 1839 the second exhibition of THE COLLECTION by JLG, a journey ignited from his passion for jewellery and fine craftsmanship during the pandemic.

The exhibition will present 36 unique pieces all handmade by local artisans in Hong Kong, conceived around the shape, colour and story circling around the spirit of the centre stone. The collection includes a showstopping 13cts oval rubellite mounted on a carved rock crystal ring. Also star attractions are necklaces, each created with over 500 carats of naturally polished tourmalines, and the first convertible clip/brooch inspired by Modernist architecture.

THE COLLECTION by JLG is developed from tales, emotions, encounters and inspiration gathered from around the world and each design is infused with symbology and story. Every single creation is imagined from often unusual gems and gemstones, such as spinels, garnets or tanzanite, in a distinctive combination of colours and textures. On the reverse side of the jewellery, at its intimate and balancing point, a “signature-gem” reveals itself, as a personal nod to the one who wears it.

Each jewel tells the tale of a historian, a discoverer, a traveller in time and space. Inspired by references and styles from the past – ancient Egypt, eternal India, the Renaissance, Art Nouveau – the pieces from THE COLLECTION by JLG are an invitation into timeless imagination. Relevant now as much as tomorrow.

The Story-rings:
Beyond being a precious object, each “story-ring” intends to capture a moment, an emotion, an image translated into the metal and the gems. Belle Epoque, Splendours of Jaipur, Horus, The Regent… their individual name holds within this “impression”, embodied by each piece. Their “story” initiates that instant, for those who wear the jewel to continue the narrative, slowly unwinding their personal storyline.

Independent from the seasons and cycles, gender and time, all pieces from THE COLLECTION by JLG are permanently available, each new creation adding to the corpus of stories and inspirations. In addition to the rings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, or earrings are also a unique talisman for the day, transforming into an amulet for the night.
