EVENT DESCRIPTION

Capture all holiday moments with brilliant savoir-faire as K11 MUSEA becomes gilded in craft, wisdom, and opulence this season! Savoir-faire (meaning ‘know-how’): The epitome of mastery and crafting elegance, igniting passion and creative imagination to produce works of the finest quality.

This holiday season, K11 MUSEA pays tribute to savoir-faire in all its guises: its grand Opera Theatre atrium, a ground-breaking haute couture and craft exhibition, a slew of wonder-inducing performances, and delightful bites and beverages to tantalise the senses. Through this, K11 MUSEA wishes visitors a journey of imagination — of unparalleled craft, wonder, art, and splendour.

Le Grand Retour of The Christmas Village Pop Up
Christmas is a time of lights as cities across Europe, especially the South, are lit up for Luminarie (Italian for “illuminations”). The traditional festival of lights is as much a spiritual event as a dazzling triumph of joyous seasonal celebration, where the sacred meet the secular, with artistry and opulence equally held in divine worship.

This majestic, Old-World countenance now comes to K11 MUSEA as a Christmas Village Pop-Up honouring the history, craftsmanship and techniques of talented artisans.

The mesmerising entrance of the Pop-up is a showstopping archway, designed as an homage to the celebrated Luminarie festival that began in Italy in the Renaissance period, and in recent times even spread to Kobe, Taipei and more, eagerly anticipated by millions each year. The lights symbolise eternal beauty, enlightenment and the festive spirit rendered in colour and radiance.

A Brilliantly Lit Archway Built By 20 Craftsman With Over 1,500 Hours
K11 MUSEA’s dazzling and dreamy interpretation draws on the same savoir-faire-filled inspiration. The brilliantly lit archway was intricately designed and installed with a pattern echoing K11 MUSEA’s own iconic architecture while welcoming visitors to the gilded Christmas Village Pop-up. From the MUSEA entrance, the Gold Ball, Oculus, to the Bohemian Hexagons, stellar craftsmanship and techniques are revealed in every inch of the design and installation.

Over 1,500 hours (or two months solid) were spent on construction by technicians and craftsman. 20 craftsman were engaged to make the remarkable display sparkle and shine. The tribute to workmanship is evident in other locations across K11 MUSEA: the grand operatic theatre, the concurrent ground-breaking haute couture and craft exhibition “Savoir Faire: The Mastery of Craft in Fashion”, the slew of wonder-inducing performances, and even the delightful bites and beverages available on site.

As K11 MUSEA reinterprets Luminarie in a more modern and stylish form, its Christmas Village Pop-up is forging a new contemporary carnival tradition and a modern legacy of festive storytelling. Without a doubt, this will be a boutique journey of imagination and unparalleled craft, wonder, and art.
