Director / Edward Lam

Artistic Director and Theatre Director of Edward Lam Dance Theatre, which established during his residence in London (1989 to 1995). Since returning to Hong Kong in 1995, Lam has devoted himself to the theatre and has directed over 60 original works.

Actress / Jen Lam

Artistic Director of Riceballer Association, Jen has created, written, directed and acted over 20 theatre productions and devised her own woman-solo productions. Her iconic woman solo performance “A Girls’ diary about Happiness” has reached the eighth run since 2013 in Hong Kong.

About The Event

#GIRLSANDBOYS, a woman-solo written by the Matilda playwright Dennis Kelly, was brought to Hong Kong this September by Edward Lam Dance Theatre and Riceball Association. With the specially curated performance, stage, and the colloquial Cantonese script translated by Wong Wing Sze, the audience found it was not enough to watch it just once. We pleasantly invited the director Edward Lam and the actress Jen Lam for a post-show sharing to decode the symbols and messages behind.
