August offers plenty of exhibitions, performances and cultural activities, starting with the 9th edition of the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong from 4 to 7 August at the HKCEC.

AFFORDABLE ART FAIR 2022
The 9th edition of the AAF will showcase thousands of contemporary artworks from over 60 hand-picked local and international galleries and exhibitors, with a strong focus on the development of the local art ecosystem.

46TH HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Founded in 1976, the HKIFF is Asia’s oldest international film festival and a pioneer in introducing Hong Kong, Chinese language and Asian cinema and filmmakers to the world, screening over 200 titles from more than 50 countries.

TIMOTHY SUN: S’WAY WITH ME
Renowned Hong Kong and Macau Saxophonist will be playing a collection of classical pieces as well as newly created songs for his first solo concert. Timothy Sun will also release his first solo album on 13 August.

FADE AWAY HONG KONG, NOW AND EVER
The exhibition invites three artists with different styles, Lewis Lau, Hayson Wong and Giraffe Leung, to present the cultural landscape and memories of Hong Kong, past and present.

MICHAEL LAU: IN THE GARDEN
The show features eighteen new works from Hong Kong-based contemporary artist Michael Lau’s Flower series, combining personal life experiences with signature elements of street life and pop culture.

VIVIAN MAIER: SELF PORTRAITS
This is the first exhibition in Hong Kong of Vivian Maier, a true creative genius who remained virtually unknown during her lifetime. She captivates the entire world with her meticulous composition and signature self portraits.
4 May – 31 August – f22 foto space at the Peninsula, TST
MAGIC TEA HOUSE
Combining live performance and recordings, the family-friendly show transforms the Tea House Theatre with arts tech. It is the first live Cantonese opera performance in Hong Kong to feature an AI-controlled robot.

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL SHAKESPEARE PERFORMANCE EXCHANGE
Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio brings a special presentation featuring the Hong Kong premiere of two overseas creations, Hamlet (dance drama) and Romeo and Juliet (drama) by Hong Kong casts.
