EVENT DESCRIPTION
Following a series of successful editions in Taiwan and Singapore, WHATZ International Contemporary Art Fair is proud to announce its official expansion into Hong Kong under the new brand WHATZ Hong Kong. From September 26 to 28, 2025, the fair will take over 44 rooms across two floors at the prestigious Conrad Hong Kong, presenting a curated selection of modern and contemporary art from around the world.
Hong Kong’s East-meets-West identity, cultural vibrancy, and global connectivity make it the perfect setting for this international edition. As a leading financial and cultural hub in Asia, the city offers an ideal platform for contemporary art to flourish—supported by world-class galleries, institutions, auction houses, and a passionate collector base. Unlike conventional art fairs, WHATZ Hong Kong offers an intimate, immersive experience through a hotel-based format. Each room is transformed into a personalized gallery, encouraging authentic interaction between collectors, artists, gallerists, and curators in a relaxed and approachable environment.
WHATZ distinguishes itself from traditional hotel art fairs through its curatorial vision and development-focused programs:
- Curators’ Rooms: Specially invited curators create immersive, theme-driven exhibitions, offering visitors richer narratives and conceptual depth.
- Rising Star Program: A targeted initiative to support emerging artists and curators from Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), providing a high-visibility platform and access to the professional art world.
- Global Reach: With editions in Taipei, Singapore, and now Hong Kong, WHATZ is committed to fostering lasting cross-border connections that nurture regional talent and elevate global engagement.
