To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved designer toy character MOLLY, The Little Galaxy – MOLLY 20th Anniversary Exhibition, co-curated by POP MART and renowned Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong, officially kicked off on January 24 at the Art Pavilion, West Kowloon Cultural District. Marking MOLLY’s first major retrospective in two decades, the exhibition launches in Hong Kong as the inaugural stop of its world tour. Tracing the timeline from 2006 to 2026, it explores MOLLY’s creative origins and evolution into a global symbol of pop culture. Visitors are invited on an immersive journey through twenty years of imagination, artistry, and emotional storytelling—while also unveiling the next chapter in MOLLY’s future.

Created and shaped by artist Kenny Wong, the exhibition features five thematic zones, including: 2006–2009: Hi, MOLLY, 2010–2015: The Second Round, 2016–2026: A Wondrous Adventure, The Little Galaxy, and Scenery Along the Way. For the first time ever, the exhibition brings together MOLLY’s original character sketches, concept drawings, hand-painted artworks, iconic collectible figures, and the heartfelt stories behind her creation. Visitors can experience Kenny Wong’s artistic journey up close and witness how MOLLY has evolved and grown across different eras. Throughout the exhibition period, special events will be held, including a Kenny Wong Signing Event and the MOLLY Star•Wish – Charity Painting Activity.

To share MOLLY’s charm with an even wider audience, a 6-metre-tall SPACE MOLLY sculpture will greet visitors at the East Lawn of the West Kowloon Cultural District—set against Hong Kong’s breathtaking skyline, creating a must-visit photo spot that celebrates imagination, art, and joy.

On February 3, artist Kenny Wong will personally attend the exhibition to host a special MOLLY birthday signing session, commemorating a twenty-year journey of growth—from a gentle spark to an enduring light. Joining Kenny Wong in reflecting on MOLLY’s evolution, every greeting and every signature will capture a heartfelt encounter, preserving a warm moment that transcends time.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Kenny Wong founded Kennyswork, a brand that has been a significant impact on the designer toy scene. Kenny also served as the art director of the brothersfree creative team. In 2006, he created MOLLY, a character that quickly became a household name. He has been collaboration with POPMART since 2016. Kenny’s art has been showcased in prestigious venues such as the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the Hong Kong Cultural Center, the University Museum and Art Gallery at the University of Hong Kong, as well as Sanlitun in Beijing, Kunshan University of Technology in Tainan, and Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
