In addition to long being the world-renowned, iconic construction support material in Hong Kong, bamboo scaffolding has also recently been recognized as a local art form by the architecture sector as well as local residents and tourists. Given such a marvellous tribute, this year’s SummerFest@Central Harbourfront is proud to present its regular program – BAMBOOSCAPE, showcasing Hong Kong’s unique cultural treasures and urban landscape. In addition, a series of nearly 25 special pop-up activities centered on culture, music, dance, and sports will take place at the Central Harbourfront Event Space, making this summer even more exciting than ever before.
Organized by Central Venue Management (CVM), which exclusively operates and manages the Central Harbourfront Event Space, SummerFest kicks off its ninth season from May 30 to August 3, a total of 66 consecutive days at this core venue. All programs are available with free entry and are expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors. For many years, CVM has invited a wide range of art and cultural organizations to co-host various SummerFest programmes, providing new inspiration and engaging experiences for all attendees.
A diverse line-up of special pop-up programs will also be presented on weekends, public holidays, and other designated days, covering four main areas: sports, music, dance, and culture. Highlights include the energetic Hong Kong Children’s Balance Bike Group Championship, Central and Western District 3v3 Dodgeball Competition, Baseball5 & eBASEBALL For All Day, plus Hong Kong Baseball5 Competition as well as Bicycle Circuit and Point Race. Attendees can enjoy all the thrilling competitions while also sharing in the joy of sweating it out together.
A host of special musical programs designed to inject rhythm into the bustling Central business district will include: CHAMpionTeng1 Hong Kong Youth Singing Competition, SingingShow, Next Star Singing Competition, Summer Vibes, My Rhythm Playground series, Neighbour Music Festival, and Let’s Play Hong Kong! series. From pop bands and brass bands, locals and tourists alike can immerse themselves in a wonderful world of melodies and harmonies. Dance programmes will include Showcase Competition and Fiesta de Ballet, combining pure artistic exuberance and elegance. Cultural programs as well will include WanderFest Festival series, The Tao of Enjoyce series, Mermazing Summer Splash series, and Sri Lankans Talent Show, providing visitors with a multitude of colorful cultural experiences.
