Joyce Wang’s “Dockside Dairy” featuring Cookie DPT
An ice cream kiosk inspired by local old amusement parks featuring nostalgic Hong Kong ice cream sandwich flavours
Venue: G/F, Promenade

World-acclaimed interior designer Joyce Wang reimagines an ice cream kiosk in her design, Dockside Dairy, that instantly reminds one of a Hong Kong childhood. Far from being a simple pavilion, Wang takes her discernment for structure and material context by creating the installation entirely out of terrazzo. Inspired by old Hong Kong amusement parks and their simplistic forms and functions, Joyce has built an octagon-shaped kiosk moulded in terrazzo, a humble pedestrian material seen in old tenement houses, public parks and underground to celebrate and challenge new ways of expressing it in sculptural forms. In shades of green, coral and yellow typically used in staircases found in old tenement houses, the retro kiosk will bring back memories of places where local visitors grew up.

Savour the sentiments of old Hong Kong with nostalgic ice cream cookie sandwich flavours pairing with the retro kiosk design. Meticulously created by Cookie DPT, Hong Kong-inspired cookie flavours (Milo, milk tea, taro, matcha, coconut and yuan yang) and ice cream fillings (peanut butter condensed milk, “White Rabbit” candy, coconut, sesame, red bean and milk tea) can be mixed and matched at the ice cream kiosk at the Promenade overlooking the Victoria Harbour. It is a perfect spot to get a taste of sweet nostalgia.

Nelson Chow’s Dreamscape with artist-inspired products at Elephant Grounds
Venue: 7F, Bohemian Garden

Up in the “sky” at the Bohemian Garden, float seemingly among the clouds in a surreal Dreamscape at acclaimed NCDA Founder and architect Nelson Chow’s collaboration with style- focused café Elephant Grounds. Enter a space shuttle-inspired installation filled with seemingly infinite illuminated bulbs (thanks to the reflections in the mirrored surfaces). Visitors will find themselves essentially dreaming in the clouds – a brief photogenic moment to escape from mundane reality. Mist will be dispersed around the space shuttle at regular intervals, as if the shuttle has just landed on Bohemian Garden — providing a one-of-a-kind experience, with the surreal, dreamlike sensation of interacting with a pulsing, sleeping cloud under the Hong Kong sky.

Chow’s first-ever outdoor interactive installation Dreamscape invites visitors to a multi-sensory experience, extended when they savour the exclusive extra-terrestrial-themed Rose Lemonade and Pineapple Rosemary Iced Tea by Elephant Grounds, two exclusive new creations bottled in designs inspired by the architect’s work. Limited edition T-shirts and pins are also available to commemorate the special collaboration.

“Hajime Sorayama X ZHEN.
A hybrid artistic wonder with the First-Ever NFT Collection of Hajime Sorayama
Venue: 2F, Gold Ball

As a pioneer in futurism and mechanical aesthetics, Sorayama’s skills shine through in his Aquatic series, as seen at Gold Ball at K11 MUSEA earlier in August, where he combined both ancient and futuristic elements by binding themes of the ocean and technology together to construct an entirely new world of its own.

Decades after the original release of Sorayama’s Aquatic series, its main character, the Sorayama Shark, is now coming to life as Sorayama’s first ever NFT. Together with ZHEN., the Hong Kong- based artwork authentication platform powered by blockchain, the Hajime Sorayama x ZHEN. NFT Collection is launched with a digital and physical approach that empowers an innovative way to fundamentally reimagine the art ownership experience.

The Hajime Sorayama x ZHEN. NFT Collection is presented in a hybrid exhibition showcasing the NFT animations as well as the physical trading cards. Showcased at K11 MUSEA in the world premiere, Sorayama’s NFT animation is divided into several versions at different scarcity levels and price points. These limited edition NFT animations and physical trading cards are the highly anticipated collectibles available for purchase exclusively at the ZHEN. NFT Marketplace in late October.

Tony Oursler’s LOCK 2,4,6 with artist-inspired coffees by CURATOR Art & Café
Venue: B2, Garage

For an otherworldly experience, dare yourself to enter American multi-media and installation artist Tony Oursler’s eclectic rumination on brain stimulation and wander through the eccentric dreamscape located at the Garage in K11 MUSEA. Previously showcased at the artist’s recent retrospective at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan, LOCK 2,4,6 debuts in Hong Kong a stunning multi-sensory experience as visitors navigate through a maze of synchronised projections and superimposed graphics on shaped flat panels. Inspired by the puzzle of the mind and body as well as neurological and brain imaging advances, the installation is designed to capture the inter-related feedback systems that make up human consciousness. Viewers become part of the art and the analytical process by moving from element to element, tracing the flow of cause and effect. All with the vividness of a neurotic caffeine binge brought by CURATOR ART & CAFÉ , which can be purchased on-site and picked up at the café itself.

An unprecedented partnership bridging contemporary digital art and the culinary world, these drinks are inspired by Oursler’s body of work — choose from a collectible Cold Brew Coffee bottled with the artist’s work printed on the label, or with the Artsy Print Coffee featuring artwork directly printed on your cup as intricate latte art that allows you to directly sip Oursler’s creations.

Jon Burgerman’s Candyland with Snapio’s retro photos
Venue: G/F, MUSE EDITION

Under Hong Kong’s mixed cultures of East and West, “Candy Picking” or “Pick ‘N’ Mix” stalls have become an interesting hybrid product true to the city, once ubiquitous across Hong Kong yet not easily found nowadays. Inspired by the iconic candies sold through such ‘Pick ‘N’ Mix’ counters, and comparing picking candies to the way he picks his favourite pigments for his paintings, Jon Burgerman’s Candyland is the artist’s first solo showcase in Hong Kong, with the artist illustrating candies in his iconic style for the first time, and turning them into fun and colourful characters. With works exhibited all over the world, British-born, New York-raised artist Jon Burgerman was always drawn to the characters featured on sweet wrappers and cereal boxes when he was young. Pick, mix and grab Burgerman’s whimsical candy-inspired limited edition prints, rugs and other merch from the Candy Pick ‘N’ Mix Experience at Jon Burgerman’s Candyland, or take home a bag of your favourite childhood sweets!

In the spirit of enjoying sweet moments, visitors can also document their childlike sugar high at the pop-up and snap instant photos in retro photo booths, powered by Snapio, with whimsical limited edition designs to decorate your fond memories.
