EVENT DESCRIPTION

M+, Asia’s global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK) in Hong Kong, will present M+ at Night: Festive Enchantment on the evening of Friday 6 December 2024.

The event will feature two well-loved local singer-songwriters, KIRI T and Moon Tang, who will sing individual sets infused with festive elements. Furthermore, an acclaimed local tap dance troupe from Step Out Studios will perform to live jazz music. To round off this year’s M+ at Night series, DJs will deliver seasonal hits and keep the party going all night long.

The M+ at Night series for October, November, and December 2024, in collaboration with Warner Music Asia, is set to elevate the event to unparalleled enjoyment and experience through a series of curated music performances and activities.

The exciting line-up of M+ at Night: Festive Enchantment on 6 December 2024 is as follows:

Live Music

KIRI T

KIRI T is a singer, songwriter, and producer. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music and majored in electronic production and design. KIRI is particularly passionate about pushing the boundaries of Cantonese pop, in which she has emerged as a rising figure. Since joining Warner Music Hong Kong in 2022, she has produced and released alternative pop hits such as ‘Dear Kiwi’ and ‘Eggnorant Sandwich’. Her Christmas EP not so xmas xmas, in collaboration with artist Moon Tang, reached over 1.5 million global streams. In March 2024, she released the chart-topping single ‘You Gotta Screw Up At Least Once’, which received 1.2 million streams on Spotify in just a month and a half. In October 2024, KIRI held her first sold-out concert ‘Ridiculously___ Kiri T Live 2024’ at The Box in Freespace, WestK.

Moon Tang

Moon has been active as an independent musician since 2020. She sang a cover of the song ‘Allure’ for the micro-movie Neon Darkness. In less than half a year, the MV reached one million views on YouTube. In the same year, she released her first mini-album Dear Moon, which was inspired by her diary. In 2021, her duet ‘Honest’ with Gareth.T also achieved one million views on YouTube. In 2022, Moon made her debut as a newcomer under Warner Records. Her first solo single ‘Lately’ landed second on the 903 Quote Chart. In 2024, she released the singles ‘getaway’ and ‘take me home’ and held a concert titled ‘before bed moon tang mini live show’ at Soho House House Studio in Hong Kong.

 Dance Performance

TAP × JAZZ by Step Out Studios  

Take The First Step is an entertaining and interactive tap dance and jazz music performance. Led by tap dance artists CAL and Zoe from Step Out Studios alongside Hong Kong’s most distinguished musicians, the performance takes the audience on a beautiful journey through tap and jazz, featuring singing, instrumental pieces, tap dance a capella, audience interaction, and storytelling. Take the First Step has been touring in Hong Kong after making its debut this October at Taichung Jazz Festival.

DJ Performances

Jeremy Cheung

Having picked up the art of DJing at sixteen, Jeremy has been spinning decks for over two decades. His sets blend genres ranging from house and techno to electro, trance, disco, and more. He performs regularly for Hong Kong’s top underground clubs and at music festivals. Jeremy holds the record for the longest DJ set played in Hong Kong at a total of fifteen hours.

Benny Cee

Benny Cee is a house DJ in Hong Kong on a mission to make a positive and lasting impact through music and entertainment on millions across the globe. His sound is shaped by tech, melodic, and afro house music, mixing genres to suit the nature of the moment.

Ming Wong

Ming Wong is one of Hong Kong’s most popular DJs with his unique and versatile music style ranging from throwbacks from the 1970s to 1990s, hip-hop, R&B, pop, EDM, house, tech house, techno house, progressive house, and chill-out music. He has spun and held residencies at renowned venues.

Tour

Visitors can join M+ curators for a guided tour of the latest exhibition Making it Matters and explore the concepts, research, design, and production approaches behind selected objects on display. These objects are part of people’s everyday lives, reminding people of the crucial role they play in the process of making and helping them understand themselves and society better. Visitors can discover the stories behind these objects with curators and learn how everyday objects are made.

Pop-up Chat by M+ Staff

Visitors can discover the processes that go into creating exhibitions and hear interesting stories from M+ staff across various departments.

Printmaking Workshop

Visitors can get creative with printmaking and make their own greeting cards for the festive season.

Imagination Playground

Visitors can explore Imagination Playground which consists of large cubes and various modules that can be easily configured and moved around, powering open-ended games with their imagination.
