Eugene Pao is synonymous with Hong Kong jazz. Since the mid-80s, he has collaborated with global legends like Michael Brecker and Bobby McFerrin, serving as both a pioneering guitarist and a cornerstone of the local scene. Joining him is Patrick Lui, a versatile Berklee-trained pianist and composer known for his sophisticated harmonic language and ambitious work with the Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra.
This guitar and piano duo strips away the rhythm section, leaving the two musicians to build melody and harmony with raw, direct intimacy. Featuring a specially curated set of standards and personal favorites, the evening offers a unique look at the creative dialogue between two generations of Hong Kong’s finest jazz talents.
