EVENT DESCRIPTION

M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong presents ‘M+ at Night: Black and White Discoteca Affairon Friday, 12 April 2024. The event will be a special night where dynamic lighting, energetic music, exciting creative activities and drinks take over. Participants can unwind from the stresses of everyday life and connect with friends and like-minded souls.

Following the successful debut of its enhanced version in March 2024, M+ at Night returns with ‘Black and White Discoteca Affair’ theme in April 2024, echoing with the new Special Exhibition The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Noir & Blanc—A Story of Photography. Black-and-white photography has a timeless aesthetic while groovy music and its glittering lights dissolve the sense of time. The collision of the two is believed to bring forth a whole new visual experience. M+ collaborates with the team of music and art festival Shi Fu Miz Festival to bring an exciting lineup of activities that explores the infinite possibilities of black-and-white photography through play with light and shadow, alongside music and action, and transforms the museum space for serious fun. Participants are welcome to dress in black and white and glow under the groovy lightings.

The creative direction, concept, and curation of M+ at Night is a collaboration between M+ and Jason Swamy (Do What You Love Asia Ltd) and Hugo Belloy (Dreams and Dreams Ltd). Studio Raito is the lighting designer of the night.
