EVENT DESCRIPTION
Co-created by three interdisciplinary artists, Step by Step is a 45-minute experimental pseudo-one-man theatrical experience. It is a visceral exploration where words, movement, and sound converge to embody the existence of a woman who has lost her face. The performance interrogates the pervasive loneliness of the urban condition, the fracturing of identity, and the nihility of existence.
Utilizing the intimate setting of the Fringe Underground Theatre, the work shatters linear narrative. Through a collage of fragmented memories, illusions, and intense solo performances, it constructs the raw psychological landscape of the contemporary city dweller.
Step by Step is dynamic physical theatre that defies static description. Its unspeakable quality lies not in mysticism, but in its constant, living evolution; the work is refined and corrected until the curtain rises. We rely on the body to articulate what language fails to grasp, and our voices evoke memories that movement alone cannot convey. The production is a rich tapestry of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, weaving a complex, cross-cultural emotional texture that resonates across contexts.
