EVENT DESCRIPTION
“Envisioning Beyond Legacy” Exhibition, jointly presented by the Development Bureau and the Planning Department is now open to the public until November 30, 2022 at City Gallery and the adjoining Edinburgh Place in Central. It is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Outdoor Exhibition: 12 Photogenic Sea, Land and Air Infrastructures Installations
The exhibition comprises outdoor and indoor exhibition zones. The outdoor exhibition “Gateway to Future” in Edinburgh Place is designed as a large-scale chessboard with interactive elements. Twelve colorful installations related to sea, land and air infrastructures with fun facts are set up, to showcase the role of Hong Kong as an international gateway connecting the Greater Bay Area and the world. Some installations are embedded with QR codes and AR technology.
Visitors can also activate the virtual chessboard game by scanning the QR code at the starting point of the chessboard. Upon completion of the game by answering simple questions or reading fun facts, visitors can redeem a souvenir at the City Gallery.
Indoor Exhibition: Interactive LED Screen and Town Planner Game
The indoor exhibition is staged at City Gallery. The “Building a New Era for Hong Kong” zone is equipped with Hong Kong’s first-ever large-scale interactive LED screen to showcase the planning and infrastructure of Hong Kong, featuring various development highlights including the Northern Metropolis, urban revitalisation and the like. When visitors ‘step’ near the major project on the floor map, the tailor-made motion tracking technology will instantly activate the corresponding video on the LED wall.
Another zone introduces the planning concept and infrastructure development proposal of the Artificial Islands in the Central Waters. Visitors will have the opportunity to become town planners and plan for their ideal third Core Business District of Hong Kong through the “Build the Islands of the Future” game. The real-time proposals from the visitors will be added to the simulated islands model and will be displayed on the screen.
