Galerie Koo is delighted to announce its exciting exhibition “MEMOIR” by Drew Harris from 13 Nov to 23 Dec.

Through his artworks, he brings the audience on a journey of his memories and expresses the emotion of isolation. Harris is a contemporary painter best known for his abstract art. “As an abstractionist, I have almost always been drawn to the line, a stroke of colour, a splash of water that marks the surface and create a story that we can all read into,” Harris stated.

The diffuse, structural abstraction are evocative and introspective. His works have been inspired by the environment and weather-related elements. The artworks are meant for all of us to travel back to the time when the world was less restricted. The rich palette and contrast of colours draws parallels to the intensive emotions we experience when we face our memories, which remain a vital part of this series of abstract landscapes.

“The rich tones conceivably come from self-awareness of the environment—what I’d like to believe perhaps. The blues and deep ochres are reflective of the land and water, though intensified to create an even greater desire to return home,” Harris shared.
