EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Design Trust Futures Festival 2025: The Art of Transformation is now underway at the historic Murray House, Stanley Plaza, Hong Kong, and will run until June 18, 2025. This innovative three-month festival celebrates design, sustainability, and cultural heritage through a series of exhibitions, installations, and community-driven programmes. Featuring over 60 designers, architects, artists, and curators, it invites the public to explore the transformative power of creativity through the lens of placemaking, urbanism, and heritage.
Curated by Marisa Yiu (Co-Founder, Lead Curator/Executive Director) and Zheng Zhou (Head of Programmes/Associate Curator), the festival explores the theme of “Exceptional Transformations,” using site-specific works to reimagine the role of design within Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and beyond.
Key highlights include “Transformational Interventions,” which integrates site-specific works into the historic and natural context of Murray House, and “Sea Garden,” an interactive exploration of material ecologies and ocean connectivity. Visitors can also experience “Hong Kong Islands and Material Ecologies,” which showcases creative research into the region’s landscapes and sustainability. The Design Trust Collaborative Space offers workshops, cultural tours, and dialogues, fostering community engagement and creative exchange.
