In the past few months, we have also been severely tested by the pandemic, under the warmth of the spring sun, we finally see the light of hope. We are excited to announce that 13a New Street Art Gallery is back, in collaboration with @AlpacaLand_NFT and a group of artists prepared a new surprise for all art lovers. What we are talking about is that 13a New Street Art Gallery has brought NFT to the exhibition for the very first time, as Alpaca Land ‘s original platform is presented in NFT as a medium. We hope to connect the physical and virtual worlds, so that collectors can freely roam in the real and virtual worlds to enjoy art without restriction.

Originating from cute and furry creatures in South America, alpacas quickly ruled the internet world. Combined with the Chinese pronunciation of the word “grass-mud-horse (草泥馬)” with a bit of playfulness, animals have become a form of humor on the internet. In the online world of “Alpaca Land”, no one knows who you are and is free to be true to yourself, whether you are optimistic or pessimistic, human or alpaca. Alpaca Land believes that human or alpaca identities can expose the “cute but unrealistic” culture and the “grumpy but natural” darkness via the Internet through the connection of diversity and global cultures.

In the new era of transformation, the art world has also kept pace with the times, integrating new technologies with art, using blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to show the public that technology empowers the value of art. We display artwork in a 1+1 format – each artwork can be enjoyed in physical or virtual form.

In this exhibition, we focus on the main character of Alpaca Land. And one of the Alpaca Land ‘s creators and famous actress, Joey Thye, will join with nine other actor and artists to participate in this exhibition, including: Alfred Cheng, who plays with geometrical thread-art; well-known art toy designer Happiest Fung; popular TV drama actor Karl Ting; Knoa Chung, who is full of childishness and healing style; Leon Lollipop, who is good at drawing animals with soul; Miloza Ma, keen on romantic and spiritual drawing style; Mr Likey, who is good reinterpret childhood memories into contemporary approach; and surrealism photographer Tommy Fung whose instagram account “SurrealHK” with 167k followers.
