Founded in 1993, the Jerusalem Quartet is one of the world’s greatest string quartets. Their depth of expression, crystalline tone, and rare balance between tradition and modernity have secured their unique place in the string quartet tradition. Over three decades, their numerous recordings have earned prestigious awards, including the Diapason d’Or and the BBC Music Magazine Award for chamber music.
Their long-awaited recital, nine years since their last Hong Kong appearance, promises to be an unforgettable evening of chamber music. The journey moves from the sunlit elegance of Mozart’s “Hunt” Quartet to the visceral emotional depths of Bartók, culminating in the ravishing Ravel Quartet. This is string quartet playing at its absolute finest.
The Jerusalem Quartet made their Hong Kong debut with Premiere Performances at our 2013 Chamber Music Festival. Since that unforgettable premiere, we have had the privilege of welcoming this exceptional ensemble back for highly acclaimed returns in 2015 and 2018.
