ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Situated on Hong Kong’s iconic Hollywood Road, a renowned destination for antique Chinese furniture since the 1980s, Liang Yi Museum opened in 2014 and houses one of the world’s finest collections of Chinese classical antiques. The four- storey museum boasts one of the largest and most meticulously curated collections of Ming and Qing dynasty furniture, crafted from prized materials such as huanghuali and zitan. Beginning with pieces acquired on Hollywood Road in the 1980s, the collection has grown to over 450 items, with select pieces exhibited at prestigious institutions including the National Museum of History in Taiwan and the Palace Museum in Beijing. Blending East and West, the museum also features the world’s premier collection of European bejewelled clutches, compacts, and powder boxes from renowned houses like Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. With over 800 pieces from the late 1880s to the 1960s, this dazzling collection offers a glimpse into a bygone era of elegance. Beyond Chinese furniture and European vanities, the museum’s diverse collections include European silver and Japanese art. Committed to engaging new audiences, Liang Yi Museum hosts exhibitions, publications, and educational programmes, highlighting the global connections that shape art, culture, and our lives.
