EVENT DESCRIPTION
Soluna Fine Art proudly presents Poem for Ephemeral Moments, the inaugural solo exhibition in Hong Kong by Korean ceramist Pyun Yae-Rin. Transforming fragments of the natural world into ceramic works that are both grounded and ethereal, Pyun carefully observes and reinterprets the intricate details found in nature, such as stones, moss, flowers, and snow-covered surfaces, through the medium of clay. She captures the forms of rocks shaped by erosion, compression, solidification, and weathering, all while preserving the fleeting, delicate essence of organic life. Her work becomes a living archive, safeguarding remembered landscapes, myths, and histories.
Blending clay with natural minerals, Pyun creates her own surreal landscapes. These quiet, otherworldly works feel ancient yet timeless, offering a tactile poetry that transcends the everyday. Each piece is an expression of material itself, inviting viewers into a richly textured, imaginative terrain.
Poem for Ephemeral Moments will be on view at Soluna Fine Art from 25 September to 4 October 2025.
Pyun Yae-Rin’s works will also be featured in Fine Art Asia 2025 from 4 to 7 October 2025.
ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER
Pyun Yae-Rin (b. 1994 in Seoul, Korea) received a BFA in Ceramic Arts and Design from Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea, and an MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art, UK. Pyun draws deep inspiration from the intricate details of nature — such as stones, moss, flowers, and snow-covered surfaces — transforming these organic elements into ceramic works that are both earthly and ethereal. She captures the essence of geological formations shaped by erosion, compression, and weathering while preserving the delicate, transient beauty of natural life. Pyun has been recognized as a finalist for the 1st Yoolizzy Craft Awards and the 6th Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa, and is the Monica Biserni Prize winner for the 63rd Premio Faenza Prize.Details
