Since its opening last Summer, Sotheby’s Maison has become the go-to destination for over half a million global collectors and art enthusiasts. Spanning 24,000 square feet across two floors in the heart of Hong Kong, it has already bore witness to over 20 signature marquee exhibitions, auctions, curated showcases, and cultural performances to date. As art enthusiasts gather in Hong Kong for art month, Sotheby’s Maison unveils a dual-art experience at the heart of Hong Kong. Running from 15 – 27 March, Corpus — Three Millennia of the Human Body is a breathtaking museum-quality exhibition of sculptural masterpieces spanning antiquity to the present day.
Concurrently, through 29 March, Sotheby’s will unveil its preview exhibitions ahead of its modern and contemporary art auctions, featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Marc Chagall, Yayoi Kusama, among many other celebrated artists. The exhibition will comprise over 120 lots in a variety of media. Housed across four open-plan Sotheby’s Salon spaces, the public will be able to feast their eyes on this season’s offerings, including a dreamy Marc Chagall created at a pivotal moment in his career from the 1930s, a still life by Pablo Picasso featuring the rare medium of oil-and-sand canvas, and an 1880s Pierre-Auguste Renoir nude, one of only a handful of comparable works ever to surface at auction. The Maison’s open design seamlessly connects previously separate boutiques with walk-through spaces and expansive glass fronts punctuated by epic showcases.
