EVENT DESCRIPTION
HKwalls, Hong Kong’s leading street art festival, will return for its 10th edition from 22-30 March 2025, transforming the Central and Western Districts with vibrant murals and digital artworks. This year, PMQ will serve as the festival headquarters, hosting a comprehensive array of exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, and more special events to engage the community and visitors through the dynamism of street art. Highlights include a new exhibition initiative, HKWALLS ROOMS, that shines a light on other galleries and artists along with the mural artists. HKwalls’ Youth Mentorship Programme, in which professional Hong Kong–based artists take emerging artists under their wing and teach them how to create large-scale murals, will also light up screens across the newly built Kai Tak Sports Park.
PMQ: HKwalls 2025 Festival Hub and Creative Epicentre
HKwalls aims to transform the Central and Western Districts into a vibrant, dynamic art space that captures the essence of urban creativity and innovation that resonates with both locals and tourists, nurturing a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging art scene in Hong Kong. Key to its mission in 2025 is the festival headquarters at PMQ, which provides a space for artists and the community to come together and celebrate public art along with Hong Kong’s status as a must-visit international destination for art lovers and enthusiasts.
There will also be an Artist Showcase, featuring studio artwork by a selection of this year’s mural artists. This includes original canvas paintings, prints, sculptures, and other collectibles. Besides showing a different side to the featured artists, the showcase offers fans the opportunity to support their favourite creators.
A groundbreaking new initiative offering accessible exhibition space to ten independent artists and galleries, HKWALLS ROOMS celebrates HKwalls’ decade-long legacy as the city’s leading street art NGO, tirelessly transforming urban space into vibrant cultural platforms. Its objective is to create an immersive, accessible art experience that bridges street culture and contemporary art markets, while driving foot traffic, media attention, and collector engagement.
