The French May Arts Festival returns with numerous art and cultural events across the city. The Affordable Art Fair is back also, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Don’t miss the internationally acclaimed show KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil, as well as the iconic Broadway rock’n’roll musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch!

EVENTS IN FOCUS
GAUTIER CAPUÇON PLAYS SHOSTAKOVICH

The concert will open with Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, under the baton of Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz. The debonair French cellist Gautier Capuçon will take centre stage for Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto. The concert will conclude with three vibrant orchestral pieces by Ravel. DANCE-TO-KNOW MULAN

Combining dance education, drama and excerpts from the popular dance drama The Legend of Mulan, Hong Kong Dance Company will bring the audience into a rich, immersive theatrical environment. Dance-to-know Mulan travels through the literary world of the classic Chinese poem The Ballad of Mulan and meets this world-renowned heroine through the medium of dance.

LE BAL

A journey through time to the Belle Époque period, Le Bal, a street parade inspired by Renoir’s and Degas’ paintings, will take you to a whimsical world where people get together, dance, laugh and enjoy life. Le Bal is produced by Remue Ménage, a world-renowned French company which marries visual arts, circus, dance and puppetry art. Part of French May Arts Festival 2025.

COLOURS OF HOPE

Featuring 30 international artists, this exhibition brings together painting, photography, sculpture and installations to explore the emotional and spiritual power of colours as symbols of hope, joy and connection. Proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be used to fund Children of the Mekong’s activities in Southeast Asia. Part of French May Arts Festival 2025.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

This is the Hong Kong edition of the iconic Broadway rock’n’roll musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, translated into Cantonese for the first time! The production blends drag artistry with pulsating rock music brilliantly and has received global acclaim for being a challenging work that pushes the limits of musical theatre performers.

HKS RECITAL SERIES: TRIO WANDERER HK DÉBUT

Three-time winner of Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year at the French Victoires de la Musique Classique, Trio Wanderer will be making their much-anticipated Hong Kong début with a recital of exquisite piano trio classics by Debussy, Ravel and Mendelssohn. Part of French May Arts Festival 2025.
