The Collectible Art Fair: Nurturing Hong Kong Artists
Co-presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC) and the Hong Kong Art School (HKAS), and organised by the Hong Kong Art School Alumni Network Committee, the first Collectible Art Fair will be held from 22 October to 16 November at Hong Kong Arts Centre.
The fair will showcase over 300 artworks by 200 graduates, teachers and students of HKAS, but also by artists who have a close relationship with HKAC and HKAS. The artworks will be from a variety of media, such as painting, ceramic, installation, photography and video.
The aim of The Collectible Art Fair is to raise awareness of the Hong Kong art scene and to support local artists and art students, by showcasing artworks and raising funds through the sale of artworks. After the deduction of the necessary expenses, all proceeds from the fair will be donated to Hong Kong Art School to support its development.

The Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Hong Kong Art School are dedicated to nurturing local artists, offering programmes related to studio practice and providing a high-quality learning environment. The two institutions also serve as a bridge between aspiring artists and the industry, to foster the local art scene development.
Over the past 23 years, HKAS has been the training ground of numerous artists. Many alumni continue to contribute to the creative and art-related fields after graduation, and some appear on the international art stage, exhibiting their artworks in art museums, art fairs and galleries.
The Collectible Art Fair 2023 is curated by Shirky Chan, an independent curator and art columnist. Shirky is a well-know figure on the local art curation field and has already curating several exhibitions at Hong Kong Arts Centre. She is herself a Hong Kong Art School alumni, having achieved her second degree, Bachelor of Fine Art (Major in Painting), with distinction in 2013. Since 2017, she is the vice-Chair and Chairlady of Hong Kong Art School Alumni Network.
Thanks to this fair, the Hong Kong audience will have the chance to appreciate and buy artworks created by artists from different backgrounds and to contribute to the support of the local art scene.
