Hong Kong is about to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival! The Golden week will see many events across the city: from mesmerizing Lantern Festivals in Victoria Park, the Blue House and Wong Tai Sin Temple, to the legendary Fire Dragon Dance in Tai Hang. Shop lanterns in Tai Kiu Market – Yuen Long or make your own by joining family workshops at the Mills and Lee Tung Avenue; embark on the Tai O Night Boat Parade and visit the art exhibitions at W Hotel and Mini Central.

Alongside spectacular lantern displays, the carnival will also feature intangible cultural heritage elements such as traditional lantern making.

FIRE DRAGON DANCE

The traditional 67-metre fire dragon with over 10,000 burning incense sticks will be paraded by over 300 performers, accompanied by a small LED dragon carried by children.

As lanterns light up the river, embark on a dreamy evening with your loved ones by sailing on a traditional hand-rowed sampan.

SIK SIK YUEN WONG TAI SIN TEMPLE MID-AUTUMN LANTERN FESTIVAL

Apart from giant lanterns, the Temple will host a variety of free activities, including lantern riddle-guessing, stargazing and moon-viewing sessions, Chinese music performances and an online hanfu photography competition.

BLUE HOUSE – MID-AUTUMN LANTERNS

Over 700 hand-painted lanterns have been hung outside the Blue House complex and community businesses. Don’t miss the 2-meter-tall hand-painted Jade Rabbit that will be shown in early October.

MOON FEST LUMIERE

Over 800 traditional Chinese lanterns and goldfish-shaped lanterns will light up the avenue, with the LED Fire Dragon Fiesta expected to return on 6 October. Several activities will be available, too, such as DIY fish lantern kit and Instant photo service.
