HONG KONG FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL 2024

The 53rd edition of Hong Kong French Film Festival will present a selection of nearly 50 French films, including 32 new films, as well as a retrospective of films featuring François Truffaut’s work, Alain Delon and Michel Blanc. French talents including actresses, actors and directors will also be present to meet the audience in a series of events.

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL – MEGA FAMILY: IMAGINING HOME

Unlike previous years, which featured satellite exhibitions and collaborations with overseas artists, this year’s HKIPF focuses on local culture through this single thematic exhibition, exploring the evolving physical, cultural, and even mental landscapes in post-pandemic Hong Kong.

MUSICUS FEST 2024

Musicus Fest is a meeting point for artists from across the world. It helps them to inspire and interact with future generations. This year’s edition will welcome local and international performers, including artists from Poland, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

WONG SZE WAI: CABINET OF CURIOSITIES

Wong Sze Wai utilises memories, overlooked places, and old objects in the city as cues to shape her own distinctive world. Drawing on the 15th Century theme of the “Cabinet of Wunderkammer,” she presents her world from exploration of the city through a collection of historical artefacts, everyday objects and images from urban life.

SWIRE SYMPHONY UNDER THE STARS 2024

Immerse yourself in a fantasy world of classical masterpieces, conducted by internationally acclaimed Elim Chan. Virtuosic pianist Chiyan Wong will perform Tsfasman’s Jazz Suite, and HK Phil Principal Horn Lin Jiang will shine in Glière’s Horn Concerto. Experience the magic of Beauty and the Beast, be swept away by Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, and cap off the night with spectacular fireworks set to the exhilarating 1812 Overture.

India by the Bay is Hong Kong’s only annual, week-long celebration of Indian arts, culture and heritage. Through an array of conversations, holistic wellness sessions, performances blending global traditions, heritage cuisine and couture showcases, the festival demonstrates how the arts can foster a more interconnected world.

VOICES OF THE WALL

The exhibition explores the history and culture of the infamous Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong through photographs by Ian Lambot, Greg Girard, Bianca Tse and Keeping Lee, and offers an opportunity to delve into the rich visual history of his once-controversial urban enclave.

GREAT VIOLIN CONCERTOS – DAN ZHU PLAYS SZYMANOWSKI

Violinist Dan Zhu will debut with Hong Kong Sinfonietta under the baton of Music Director Christoph Poppen. He will play Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No 2. The concert will open with the Hong Kong première of acclaimed composer Valentin Silvestrov’s atmospheric Stille Musik, and conclude with Tchaikovsky’s timelessly captivating Symphony No 5.
