EVENT DESCRIPTION

This May, the profound collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre culminates in an exceptional exhibition at Tai Kwun, Hong Kong. Rooted in a shared passion for excellence, the collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre extends beyond watchmaking, embracing the very essence of artistic heritage. From ancient sculptures to Renaissance masterpieces, the influence of the Louvre is reflected in every detail, making each timepiece not just a watch, but a bridge between history and innovation.

The pinnacle of the exhibition is the Métiers d’Art Tribute to great civilisations’ first public appearance in Hong Kong. The timepieces illustrate the Maison’s extensive research into the Louvre’s iconic antiquities. Through the mastery of manual engraving, enameling, and various rare hand-applied decorative arts, the exhibition reimagines the epic imprints of ancient civilisations in miniature form.

Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre formalised their artistic and cultural partnership in 2019 and, united by the same vocation of conserving, preserving and transmitting the arts and artisanal knowledge, the two institutions continue to collaborate on various projects. Following years of close collaboration with the Louvre, Vacheron Constantin presented 1st set of Métiers d’Art Tribute to Great Civilisations in 2022 with four masterpieces representing four eras decorated with cultural symbols created in the form of sculpted gold appliques, depicted on the dials. In 2026, the Maisons launched the 2nd set of Métiers d’Art Tribute to Great Civilisations and it will be the first time in Hong Kong to showcase both sets of masterpieces at the exhibition Tribute to Great Civilisations, An Artistic & Cultural Dialogue between Vacheron Constantin and The Louvre at Tai Kwun, illustrating the pinnacle of Genevan mechanical precision and decorative arts.
