THE DAKINI CODE: Lotus-Born Master and the Event Horizon

11 February - 6:15 pm - 8:55 pm

$60 – $80

EVENT DESCRIPTION

As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations this year, Buddhistdoor is hosting a third and final film screening with Asia Society this year, this time showcasing THE DAKINI CODE: Lotus-Born Master and the Event Horizon. This is the third film in director Laurence Brahm’s Lotus-Born Master series and combines past documentary themes and a creative, artistic interpretation of the dakini forces, feminine divine beings that help gurus and prophets access parallel universes.

Going boldly to the very event horizon of the encounter between science and spirituality, this film will refresh your take on the cosmos and reality just in time for end of year celebrations. Laurence will once more be joined by former senior journalist Thomas Polin in a post-screening dialogue.

THE DAKINI CODE is the third film in director Laurence Brahm’s Lotus-Born Master series. Going boldly to the very event horizon of the encounter between science and spirituality, this film focuses on astrophysics concepts related to the dark hole and wave theory connected to concepts like dark matter. Continuing the expeditionary theme from the previous two Lotus-Born Master films, this expedition seeks to explore how ancient traditional philosophies understood these concepts and the interaction of science and early technologies.

Padmasambhava, or Guru Rinpoche, was an important historical figure having embraced many different cultures across the Himalayan region while merging philosophy with science. The film creatively pays tribute to his historical and cultural legacy, connecting his work across several countries and bringing his teachings to life.

Deepen your immersion into the world of the Lotus-Born Master with a unique experience of Tibetan-style Kung-Fu. Laurence Brahm, approved to teach this lineage of martial arts by senior Jonang masters, will guide you through the internal and external animal forms that reinvigorate and realign the body and mind. The atmosphere will be enhanced with a singing-bowl complement by experienced singing-bowl practitioner, spiritual guide, and Buddhistdoor Global columnist Rebecca Wong.
