If we could defy gravity, could we escape the tragic pull of fate? In a world spinning out of control, is the power of love strong enough for us to hold on to reality?
Created by The 7 Fingers (Les 7 Doigts), a collective of world-class artists based in Quebec, Canada, Duel Reality is a bold and electrifying fusion of the contemporary circus and theatre arts. After captivating audiences in 2018 with Bosch Dreams, a surreal collaboration with Denmark’s Theatre Republique, it now takes on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet—but not as you’ve ever seen it before.
This is Shakespeare re-imagined through acrobatics: a high-octane, emotionally charged spectacle where timeless themes of love and rivalry are played out in midair. Think red versus blue, family feuds turned into physical showdowns. Featuring the diabolo, juggling, Chinese poles, teeterboards, hula hoops—each act is a strategic move in a poetic battle of hearts.
Performers weave the Shakespearean dialogue into their choreography, every gesture packed with drama and wit. Expect breathtaking flips, daring aerial stunts, and moments of romantic beauty. No words are needed—body language becomes the ultimate storyteller, capturing the complexity of human emotion and connection.
