Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medal Winner: Zlatomir Fung Cello Recital

The youngest cellist ever to win the Gold Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019 when he was only 20, Zlatomir Fung is poised to become one of the preeminent cellists of our time. Astounding audiences with his boundless virtuosity and exquisite sensitivity, the 24-year-old has already proven himself a star among the next generation of world-class musicians.
Currently the Artist-in-Residence with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Fung already has an enviable concert career which will include tours in Europe, North America and Asia this season. As a recitalist, Fung has garnered acclaim while performing at illustrious locations like Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Verbier, Dresden, and numerous other renowned festivals.
Of Bulgarian and Chinese heritage, Zlatomir Fung was born into a family of mathematicians and began playing cello at age three. Fung studied at The Juilliard School,where he was the recipient of the Kovner Fellowship.
For his Hong Kong début, Zlatomir Fung is joined by local star pianist Rachel Cheung to present a programme that strikes the perfect balance between virtuosity and musicality. A true delight for anyone who loves the cello!
