Tango After Dark elevates Argentinian tango from its cosy cabaret setting to an ultimate theatrical experience, fusing the intoxicating music of legendary composer Astor Piazzolla with breathtaking choreography and jaw-dropping moves. Led by international tango superstar and world champion Germán Cornejo, a cast of ten top dancers performs alongside a live band that masterfully interprets Piazzolla’s revolutionary scores from different periods. This exhilarating performance captures the seductive power of Argentina’s most iconic dance, blending sensuality with quick-fire precision and pushing the boundaries of this passionate art form. 

Celebrated worldwide, Tango After Dark is set to be an unforgettable evening that will keep your passion burning deep into the night. 

A number of fringe activities will be organised for this programme.

Echoes of Tango: From Gardel to Piazzolla Concert will be held at 8pm on October 30 (Thursday) at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum. Diego Ramos, music director and pianist of the company, accompanied by Bandoneon player Matías Rubino as well as singers Jesús Hidalgo and Antonela Cirillo, will guide audiences through the great creations of tango music, from its origins to its contemporary evolution. The programme will also feature two tango dance workshops (conducted in Spanish with English interpretation) at the Podium Workshop of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre for beginners and advanced participants respectively, where they will experience a taste of the passion and elegance of tango dance guided by company dancers. The workshop for beginners (suitable for those aged 16 or above) will be held at 11am on November 1 (Saturday), while the one for advanced participants (suitable for those aged 16 or above with Tango dance training) will be held at 11am on November 2 (Sunday).
