SurrealHK: Surreal Giant Pandas in Hong Kong

13A New Street Art Gallery is proud to present the solo exhibition “Surreal Pandas of Hong Kong” by the surreal creative master SurrealHK, running from 14th December to 29th December. The exhibition will feature over 27 pieces of artwork, showcasing the national treasure, the panda, in a surreal journey through Hong Kong.

With the Christmas season approaching, SurrealHK hopes to fill the holiday with a charming and joyful surreal atmosphere through his works. His creations have attracted up to 197,000 followers on Instagram, resonating with the public and bringing smiles to many. Several top fashion brands have also recognized his surreal style, inviting him to collaborate, including Loewe, Gucci, and Adidas. His artwork is frequently featured in brand promotions across various platforms, showcasing a blend of luxury and surrealism.

SurrealHK has participated three times as an artist in the prestigious international art event “Affordable Art Fair,” where his artistic talent and undeniable skill have garnered significant attention. His previous solo exhibitions have seen long lines at gallery entrances, highlighting the strong appeal of his works. In recent years, his art has gained international acclaim, making him a prominent and sought-after figure in the Hong Kong art scene.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

Tommy Fung was born in Hong Kong in 1979. At the age of nine he moved with his family to Maracaibo, Venezuela. There he studied Graphic Design at La Universidad del Zulia, where he obtained his degree in 2005. Soon after his graduation, he started his own business as a freelance graphic designer. After a while he finds his passion in photography, since then he applies the theory of design in photography.

In 2014, he was one of the finalists at the WYNG Masters Award on the theme of “AIR”. He participated in “Harmonious Chaos” of deTour 2017 at PMQ, exhibiting his earliest artworks named “Real or Surreal”. In 2018, he had a TEDx talk at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Also In 2019, he did a collaboration with Max & Co and his work was displayed at their stores in Hong Kong. He also had an exhibition at Shun Tak Centre as the main attraction of the theme “Summer Dreaming”. In 2020, he did his first solo exhibition SURREALHK My Surreal Life in Hong Kong at 13A New Street Art Gallery, with an overwhelming response from his fans attending to the venue.
