EVENT DESCRIPTION
Asia Society Hong Kong Center (ASHK) will host a series of virtual workshops, See You Online 2.0, for art lovers of all ages. The series is sponsored by the Swire Group Charitable Trust’s Trust Tomorrow initiative, and is part of ASHK’s exhibition, Recovery, Resilience, Resurgence that features 1940s-1970s Hong Kong in images by renowned photographers Hedda Morrison, Lee Fook Chee and Brian Brake.
The workshops include storytelling with Auntie Choi and time travel via our exhibition, and making a shoebox camera obscura and pinhole photography. The details are:
April 20, 4pm-5pm
Storytelling Workshop with Auntie Choi [Open to Public]
Local storyteller Auntie Choi will delve into the Recovery, Resilience, Resurgence exhibition photographs, and introduce daily life in Hong Kong from the 1940s to the 1970s. The workshop is suitable for primary school students aged 6-12 and their families.

Time Travel Via Our Exhibition [Open to Public]
Early childhood educator will lead children to time travel via images from ASHK’s current exhibition, and provide arts and craft activities. The workshop is suitable for children aged 3-6 and their families.

Storytelling Workshop with Auntie Choi [Ma On Shan St. Joseph’s Primary School)
Auntie Choi, an experienced storyteller, will take students through the exhibition images, and speak about what daily life was like in Hong Kong from the 1940s to the 1970s. The workshop is suitable for primary school students aged 6-12 and their families.

Camera Obscura Workshop [Open to Public]
The workshop will guide participants to make a camera obscura, the predecessor of the photographic camera, by using a shoebox to capture and project the street view at home.

Pinhole Photography [Open to Public]
Participants create a DIY pinhole camera by materials they have readily available at home. Photographer Bobby Lee shares techniques to take pinhole photography with your handmade devices and smartphones. Language: English
