Touch Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition titled “Tranquility of Spring”, showcasing the works of local artist Sam Cheng. The exhibition will run from April 2 to April 30, 2025, showcasing Cheng’s renowned Gongbi still life and landscape paintings.
Sam Cheng, a graduate of the Fine Arts Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts first-class honour, has won the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Creative Award, Culture Corner Art Academy Fine Arts Award, and the Ting Yen Yung Creative Award for her artworks. She has captivated audiences with her ability to express profound emotions through everyday objects. Her latest works, featured in “Tranquility of Spring,” reflect the serene beauty encountered in life’s mundane moments, showcasing how art transforms through the passage of time.
In her own words, Cheng describes her artistic journey: “Gradually, I became enchanted by the tranquility of observing the waves and flowers, discovering that silence and stillness can be the best companions for self-reflection.” This exhibition invites viewers to join Cheng on her daily ferry rides across the sea, where she finds inspiration in the ocean’s depths, shimmering hues, and gentle breezes.
