Visionairs, a pioneering French cultural and educational organisation founded by experts in art, culture, and history, will open its first permanent exhibition space in Asia this December at West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK), introducing a new chapter to Hong Kong’s storied and vibrant cultural landscape.
Visionairs is dedicated to promoting art and technology globally. It curates research-backed cultural projects using immersive technologies, including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), and other innovative approaches, to bring history to life for its audiences.
Launching in December 2024, Visionairs’ first exhibition in Hong Kong uses AR technology to transport visitors to Notre-Dame de Paris in celebration of the landmark cathedral’s official reopening on 8 December. Notre-Dame de Paris, The Augmented Exhibition has toured worldwide from Paris to Dubai, and Berlin to Shanghai, welcoming over 300,000 visitors in 19 locations to experience the story of the French gothic masterpiece. Created by Histovery, in collaboration with Rebuilding Notre-Dame de Paris and supported by L’Oréal Groupe, the exhibition is a historically accurate recreation of Notre-Dame de Paris throughout its history, allowing visitors to peek into 20 different time portals, walk the halls, explore the roof, listen to the stories told by its original builders, and discover the cathedral’s many secrets.
