[Music as Gaming] Jing Wang: Ivory Tower
31 January - 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$200EVENT DESCRIPTION
Music as Gaming project, is an innovative commissioning programme that reimagines the relationship between composers, musicians, and performance. This platform invites three talented emerging composers from Hong Kong to challenge traditional paradigms of Western music performance by integrating the dynamism and interactivity of gaming into contemporary music composition.
Ivory Tower is a whimsical musical journey that intertwines a series of beloved children’s games, including Hide-and-Seek, Duck, Duck, Goose, Hopscotch, and Statues. This engaging piece will be performed by HKNME that combines choreographed movements with elements of voice, found objects, and body percussion. As the musicians navigate the stage, they embody the playful spirit of these games, inviting the audience to rediscover the joy and creativity inherent in childhood play.
