Mayaa 8th Annual Charity Concert

8 March - 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$210 – $290

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Mayaa Foundation is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated 8th Annual Charity Concert, slated to take place on 8 March in Wan Chai. This year’s concert promises to be an extraordinary fusion of music and cinema, with 100% proceeds dedicated to supporting the education of underprivileged children in the slums of Kathmandu or in Hong Kong.

The Mayaa Foundation is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged communities through education, and all proceeds will directly benefit children in need.

All the artists are performing for free, so by attending the concert, guests will not only enjoy a night of entertainment but also contribute to a worthy cause. The event has received the support of the French Consulate and the Alliance Française under the banner of Semaine de la Francophonie.
Mayaa has been created by an amazing woman, Nicole Sicard, aged 88, and still running for “the Olympic flame project.” Nicole was born in France but has lived in Hong Kong for the last 50 years, living and working as a teacher in the local community, believing that only education can improve people’s chances in life. She is totally fluent in Cantonese and a personality of the Hong Kong and French scene. She has received numerous awards for her dedicated work for the most needy. She has recently been made Chevalière de la Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest distinction.

Themed “Movie Soundtracks,” the concert will feature an eclectic repertoire of iconic melodies spanning various genres, from classical to pop-rock, jazz, and opera. With more than 50 artists on stage, attendees can expect to be transported through the cinematic universe with unforgettable tunes from beloved films such as Pulp Fiction, Flashdance, La Vie en Rose, Pirates of the Caribbean, James Bond, The Modern Times and many more.
