EVENT DESCRIPTION
Marco Wu’s solo exhibition “From Here to There” uses window frames and paper airplane works to depict a sense of distance.
Through layered grayscale tones, the artist visualizes the trajectories of these objects in motion. The paper planes, serving as vessels incapable of bearing their own weight, pierce through the spatial boundaries between interior and exterior defined by window frames.
The works are housed in boxes with a sliding track, the four sides of each box forming the artworks’s frame. As the track moves, the viewable portion of the work transforms accordingly, while shadows gradually vanish. The visible sections of the artworks and the depth of shadows are ultimately determined by the viewer’s perspective.
ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER
Marco Wu graduated from the Hong Kong Art School in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting.
He mainly uses charcoal as his creative medium, focusing on extending its possibilities on different surfaces, and expressing his own personal state through abstraction and partial capture of images.
