EVENT DESCRIPTION

Hong Kong local artist LOKKI holds his second solo exhibition, titled “Some Poetic Moments”, at Tung Gallery in Central until 23 December. Through his paintings, LOKKI constructs significant scenes from his childhood memories, revisiting the spaces and emotions of those moments. He explores how memories shape our personalities and invites the audience to reconcile with various traumas and obsessions in the purest and most personal way. This journey encourages everyone to embrace each profound memory, experience the beauty of fleeting moments, and learn to appreciate the romance of the present.

After LOKKI holding his first solo exhibition “The Broken Pieces 2.8/5” in Hong Kong last year, LOKKI has participated in group exhibitions in Hong Kong, South Korea (CICA MUSEUM), and the UK. This introduced his expressionistic painting style to the art enthusiasts around the world, characterized by bold lines, vibrant colors, rich and textured brushstrokes that depict inner imagery. Audiences experience the hysterical tension and overflowing emotions conveyed in his work.

In this second solo exhibition in Hong Kong, LOKKI’s works showcase his signature expressionistic style, extending with the elements of impressionism and surrealism, sharing a unique logic of light, shadow and color constructed with his personal emotions. He hopes to resonate with the audience through memories that are both different and similar. By confronting various long-buried inner emotions, he seeks to re-establish their meaning and significance, learning to embrace a state of openness that allows everything to happen, and experiencing each encounter with the most thorough self.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER

LOKKI graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion and Textile Design. Before this, he studied in the UK, where he honed his illustration style and mastered concept development.

LOKKI is an quick-sketch artist who has collaborated with top international fashion luxury brands such as BVLGARI, FENDI, MARC JACBOS, LOUIS VUITTON. He holds 7+ years of experience as an sketch artist and has drawn for fashion aficionados in private events.

As an artist, LOKKI brings his visions to life to emotionally touch people and reminiscence lost memories. His artwork reflects his personality and exhibits his love for exclusivity and uniqueness. He shares his unique perspectives with the world to make the viewers experience the world from his lens.
