EVENT DESCRIPTION

Between 29 to 31 October, Korea Square 2021, the first large-scale marketplace event hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, will be held at PMQ Courtyard & Marketplace. Visitors can join Korean cultural activities, such as traditional games from the Netflix hit, Squid Game, craft workshops and Hanbok experiences while enjoying live Taekwondo performances and more. The event will also showcase a wide variety of Korean products, including electronics, skin care and K-food.

Experience the games from Netflix hit “Squid Game”

Fans of the latest Netflix hit, Squid Game, will be able to play familiar Korean traditional games, including Guseulchigi (playing games using marbles with the goal to win other players’ marbles), Ddakji (throwing paper cards to flip another player’s card), Dalgona candy challenge (using a needle to cut out a shape from a sweet honeycomb candy), Yutnori (board dice game using four wooden sticks), Jegichagi (kicking a Jegi into the air and keeping it aloft), Tuho (throwing javelin sticks into a narrow-necked jar) and more.

A series of cultural activities, including workshops on Hanbok paper doll making, fabric folding art and an opportunity to try on traditional Hanbok, will be available at the event.

Try hands-on the latest Korean lifestyle products and take home delicious K-Food

Gadget fans can experience firsthand a vast range of innovative electronic products and home appliances from Samsung and LG Electronics, including Samsung’s latest smartphones, such as Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 5G, and state of the art products from LG’s PuriCareTM range.

Visitors who crave Korean food will find a range of fruits and vegetables freshly delivered from Korea by Hanyinhong, classic Korean snacks and sweet rice cake from JCOR, and Korean lunchboxes from New World Korean Food and Maxearn. In addition, Stella A&C will offer Korean style bottled cold brew coffee and a special rice cake dessert, perfect for enjoying together.

At Korea Square 2021, visitors will be able to purchase Sulwhasoo skincare products. Furthermore, visitors will receive complimentary make-up and hairstyling services from Han Kuk Korean Lifestyle, while Creation Video & Photo Studio will be there to capture their perfect looks in Korean style at their photo booth free of charge.
