EVENT DESCRIPTION

Fish wandering in the boundless and crystal clear ocean induces infinite imaginations. As the ingenious saying goes: “If one has no dream, is there a difference between a man and a salted fish?” That may explain how fish is implied to dreams, for dreams only bubble up when one can wander freely in the ocean of creativity.

Dream is the spiritual aspect of human beings, and it is also a kind of need. Only with dreams can the meaning of life be complete. Therefore, how not to become a salted fish, or, how to maintain the persistence of pursuing dreams in an environment where freedom is increasingly narrowed, is everyone’s
homework in the present.

In this exhibition with fish as the theme, three friends from different backgrounds, and different artistic mediums hope to bring out a multi-faceted metaphor of fish. The strength of a small fish is little. But we may borrow the intelligence that Leo Lionni conveys in his famous children book Little Cuttlefish: the small fishes figured out a method to swim in the shape of a big fish, to survive in a dangerous environment. How amazing is the strength of unity!
