Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong – Poster Design Competition Exhibition

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The annual mega event “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong – Rediscovering Nippon” has come to the 8th edition this year. To celebrate the occasion, a poster design competition is held for the first time with the theme “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong – What I like about Japan”. An independent adjudication panel has selected winners from over 450 entries spreading across the Primary, Secondary and Open Divisions.

Champion of the Primary Division goes to Chan Po Chi, Angelo, a 10-year-old young artist. His painting “Joy of Japan” depicts his favourite things about Japan, including delicious sushi, ramen, taiyaki, Japanese samurai, sumo wrestlers, beckoning cat (maneki-neko), railways, Mount Fuji, Tokyo Tower, origami cranes, Torii Gate, and captivating traditional Japanese festivals. His poster is vibrant and exudes a joyful atmosphere. It has also been selected as the official poster for “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” 2023. The champion of the Secondary Division is awarded to “Japanese Scenery,” which showcases a beautiful landscape that combines nature, technology, and traditional culture of Japan in an amusing way. “Discover the Best Japan” won the champion of the Open Division. It takes inspiration from the artist’s favourite, Japanese manga, and portrays Hong Kongers’ beloved Japanese cuisine and scenery, expressing the wish to visit Japan again. Additionally, the “Best Popularity Award” goes to “A Journey to Japan in Hong Kong,” which received a total of 1,400 likes during the public voting period on Facebook.

The “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” Poster Design Competition Exhibition will take place at KC100 Art Space from October 7th to 29th and at PMQ from November 4th to 12th. Printed versions of the 19 winning posters will be showcased along with all the qualified entries in a slideshow format. The exhibition is sponsored by FUJIFILM Business Innovation Hong Kong Limited, which utilizes its advanced technology to produce high-quality printed exhibits, presenting the winning artworks in the best condition.
