Updates of Programme & Concert Duration
With discussion with the conductor and soloist, the advertised programme of “Jaap & Niu Niu” at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 7 & 8 FEB 2025 has been adjusted and listed as above.
The concert will now open with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no. 3. Other repertories remain unchanged. The updated programme runs approximately 2 hours with an intermission.
For 2024/25 Subscribers who have subscribed to this concert, you may continue to use the subscription tickets for admission to the updated performance.

Following his sensational performance of Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with the HK Phil and Maestro Jaap van Zweden in 2022, Niu Niu returns to complete the piano concerto cycle with the relatively less performed Second and Third concerto. Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, filled with warmth and joy, represents the great Russian composer’s mastery of orchestration and his ability to evoke powerful emotions through music.
The concert runs approximately 2 hours with an intermission.
Please note latecomers will miss the whole concerto, and the audience is advised to allow enough time for admission.

ABOUT THE ARTIST / ORGANISER
The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is one of the leading orchestras in Asia. The annual schedule focuses on symphonic repertoire, with conductors and soloists from all over the world.
