New Art Est-Ouest Auctions is proud to announce the opening of Intimate Exposure: The Art of Araki — a visceral art exhibition showcasing the provocative and influential works of renowned Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Running from November 2 to December 21 at 7/F, H Queen’s, this exhibition offers a rare glimpse into Araki’s multifaceted artistry, featuring his striking Polaroid photography, handcrafted wood furniture, and exclusive special edition designs.

The exhibition invites visitors to explore the intimate and often controversial themes that permeate Araki’s work. His Polaroid images, celebrated for their raw emotion and frenetic quality, allow audiences to appreciate his unique perspective on love, desire, and the human experience. Complementing these iconic photographic works, the exhibition will also showcase Araki’s bespoke wood furniture, reflecting his commitment to craftsmanship and design.

His polaroids which encompassed Tokyo, flowers, as well as his best-known and controversial images of bonded women are some of his most recognisable and memorable photography art mediums. Araki’s iconic series of autobiographical bondage polaroids as well as large original photographs from Araki’s storied career will be on display at “Intimate Exposure: The Art of Araki”. This thought-provoking and visually stunning exploration of Nobuyoshi Araki’s artistic legacy encourages dialogue around the intricate relationships between photography, design, and performance art.
