EVENT DESCRIPTION
Hong Kong] Hong Kong Culture Festival pleasantly announces the forthcoming Intangible Cultural Heritage Mart 2024 (ICH Mart) will be held on 10 and 11 August, at Central Harbourfront Event Space. Thanks to the funding support from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, as well as our co-organisers, Central Venue Management (CVM) and SummerFest@Central. Through this major annual event, the Festival aims to raise public interest and encourage participation in traditional culture, particularly among youths.
The ICH Mart this year has the theme of “Transformation: From Past to Present”. A series of activities will be offered to allow the public to gain a better understanding of the inheritance and transformation of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage over the years. The two-day ICH Mart will be running from 1pm to 8pm on both days in a form of carnival market under two themes, namely “Transformation: From Past” and “Transformation: To Present”. The first day will be focused on the essence of traditional culture, while the second day will celebrate the cultural inheritance over the years. In addition to various free ICH-themed performances, demonstration, workshops, culture experience game booths, mini exhibition and selfie area funded by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, visitors can also experience local delicacies as well as fun facts about local customs from an interesting perspective through other activities.
From celebratory rituals to performing arts, traditional craftsmanship to daily lives that has already been included in ICH Inventory of Hong Kong, visitors will be able to experience these unique cultures through cultural experiences booths, workshops, as well as performances and interactive game booths.

Visitors can learn traditional craftmanship from local masters byenrolling different FREE workshops: Dragon Beard’s Candy Making Technique,Wooden Stool Crafting, Wooden Chopsticks Crafting, Face Threading Technique andBetrothal Cakes Making (including Winter Melon Pastry and Chinese WalnutCookies).
