EVENT DESCRIPTION

HKGNA Music Festival 2024 “Musical Inspirations!”, presented by Hong Kong Generation Next Arts (HKGNA), is set to captivate audiences from November 19th to 30th, 2024. This highly anticipated event will unite classical virtuosos, Canto-pop and K-pop sensations, and Hong Kong’s rising young talents on a single stage, showcasing the city’s vibrant musical landscape and positioning it as the global arts hub for the next generation!

The festival’s program promises to be a captivating blend of musical genres and cultural exchanges. Highlights include a concert by double Grammy winner and world-renowned violinist, James Ehnes, with pianist Orion Weiss, who will bring the audience Beethoven’s beloved violin sonatas. Another must-see event is the Hong Kong debut performance of the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra and their distinguished faculty members Violinist Angelo Xiang Yu and Violist Hanna Lee, under the baton of Ken Lam, who will take the stage alongside Hong Kong’s best and brightest young artists. The festival will also feature a world premiere special event: a duet by Hong Kong megastar Hins Cheung and Korean superstar Sung Si-Kyung, bridging the worlds of K-pop and Canto-pop with a unique language exchange performance. This historic collaboration will be accompanied by acclaimed music arranger Johnny Yim, the HKGNA Music Festival Youth Orchestra, the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra, and The Hong Kong Children’s Choir, under the direction of Andrew Ling and Leung Kin-fung. Korean celebrity host, Ms. Soojung Kang will be the Emcee of the November 29th concert.

In addition, the festival will showcase violin virtuoso and HK Phil Concertmaster Jing Wang, star soprano Louise Kwong, together with the talents of HKGNA International Music Competition Grand Prize winners, cellist Leland Ko and pianist Alex Wun, as well as young guzheng performer Jiawen Chen.
