EVENT DESCRIPTION
Harvey Nichols presents Muki’s Universe, a solo exhibition by Hong Kong– and Shenzhen-based artist Ling LIN (Lingmuki), whose whimsical character “Little Muki” invites viewers to rediscover the tenderness of childhood.
In this intimate body of work, Ling opens a vibrant, dreamlike world where vulnerability becomes strength and imagination offers healing. Little Muki, inspired by a childhood fishing game toy, exists between object and human, innocence and intricacy, navigating a universe shaped by invisible forces that mirror the instability of our own lives.
Through a refined mixed media practice spanning oil, Chinese painting, watercolour, acrylic, and ceramics, Ling transforms emotion into visual poetry, balancing fragility and resilience in each pieces. Her Chinese aesthetics–inspired works gently encourage viewers to reconnect with their own memories and notice what is often left unseen.
